Commonwealth Referrals & Louisa Clean
For Jody Korman, moving to Lake Anna has been a true blessing. Serving as a full time Realtor in the Greater Richmond community for 17 years with RE/MAX Commonwealth, Jody took the plunge to make her move to Lake Anna while continuing to serve clients by commuting to her Richmond office. Moving to Lake Anna brought many opportunities for Jody, including joining the Lake Anna Business Partnership and volunteering for RuraLove, a thrift shop helping residents financially, spiritually, and socially.
The Kormans built their home under the direction of Eric Henry of Spartan Homes. In 2019, Jody began the journey of training under world-renowned slalom water skier Corey Vaughn at Bumpass Water Ski School just eight miles away from her home. Three years later, Jody moved her real estate license to Commonwealth Referrals, an affiliate business with RE/MAX Commonwealth. As a referral agent, Jody refers buyers, sellers, and investors anywhere in the United States to professional Realtors that will provide the best level of service to meet their needs. Key qualities of the Realtor referred to include being experts in their area, accuracy, punctuality, reliability, and a willingness to go beyond the client’s expectations.
In March 2022, LouisaClean was born under the direction of Beth Ann Boone. LouisaClean meets monthly at Louisa County Library and is open to the public. Their mission is to engage area residents to have a stronger awareness of the need for their county roadways to stay clean. Through bi-annual county-wide clean ups, work with VDOT to increase the “Adopt A Highway” program, and connections with businesses, churches, civic associations, local government, and schools, they hope to create a new culture – LouisaClean.
The Lake Anna Beautification Friends “Adopt A Highway” program was also born under the direction of Jody Korman with help from Tom and Carol Dezorzi. From March 2 to December 31, 2022, over the course of 26 days and over 300 hours of community service, 47 volunteers helped pick up 442 bags of trash along Kentucky Springs, Moody Town, Carrs Bridge, Pottiesville, Johnson, and a small section of Frederick Hall roads. They engage the Louisa County Sheriff’s office, if they are not on a call, to help alert motorists to slow down while they work.
Other individuals who have played a significant leadership role in the success of the LouisaClean movement include Duane Adams, Louisa County Board of Supervisors chair, and Scott Randlett, owner of Valet Trash and Hauling. Special thanks also goes to Bob and Teri Kulakowski of Pro Radon Testing, Troy Dillard of Dillard Alarm Company, Robin Wheeler of Lake Anna Real Estate Group, Ronda Guill of Midtown Printing, Libby Sandridge of Dockside Realty, Scott Randlett, and Jody Korman for purchasing the VDOT-approved “Litter Pick Up Ahead” signs to warn motorist to slow down as volunteers help make their county beautiful.
LouisaClean’s goal in 2023 is to expand the “Adopt A Highway” program by finding likeminded leaders to volunteer to assist in this effort. Please go to the Facebook group “LouisaClean” to help.
