JSJ Plumbing is a full-service family-owned and operated plumbing company. Billy Rogers began learning the plumbing trade at the age of 12 when he started working with his stepfather during the summer months and on school breaks. With the guidance of his stepfather, Billy helped to plumb new homes, repair existing plumbing systems, and install sewer and water lines. When he graduated from high school, he decided to continue the plumbing trade by attending plumbing school while working as an apprentice for Kane Plumbing in Richmond. Billy obtained his Master Plumber & Gas Piping Certifications while working full-time for Kane Plumbing.

Billy married his wife Lisa in 1990. After starting a family in 1994, Billy accepted a job with Foster Plumbing to further advance his plumbing career. At Foster, he was a lead plumber running jobs on his own with the help of an apprentice plumber. However, as their family continued to grow and the construction field became more volatile, Billy applied for a position with Henrico County as a plumbing inspector. After working with the county for seven years and seeing the work of other plumbers, Billy decided he missed the hands-on work and wanted to head back into the field.

In 2003, Billy and Lisa took a leap of faith and started their own plumbing business. They named the company after their three children: Jessica, Samantha, and Jack. Billy worked in the field on mostly new construction with some service work. Lisa worked in the office as the bookkeeper while continuing to work as a legal assistant/office manager at a law firm in Richmond.

As Billy’s business took off, Lisa took an even bigger leap of faith and left her job in Richmond to work full-time for their family business in the summer of 2004. Today they continue to work together with Billy in the field and Lisa in the office. Their son Jack decided to attend trade school himself after high school and has joined the family business. With Billy’s guidance and expertise, Jack has become an integral part of the business.

When first starting their business, JSJ focused primarily on new construction. As with all small businesses, there are downturns at times, and with that comes the need to reevaluate the company model. So while continuing to work in new construction, Billy began taking on repair work such as water heaters, well pumps, and remodeling.

JSJ Plumbing serves Lake Anna and the surrounding counties as a full-service residential plumbing company. Their work includes new construction, remodels, service calls, well pump replacements, and the installation of gas lines. They have many long-time customers and have developed many life-long friendships over the years. The Rogers take pride in their work by treating customers’ homes as they would their own. They believe in doing the job correctly the first time – shortcuts and quick fixes are not part of their business motto.
