Luxury Koating Applications was born from two lifelong passions: more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and a lifetime spent enjoying the water.

Throughout owner Kyle Austin’s career in auto body repair, he has learned there is almost always a way to bring something back to life. He spent years repairing damaged vehicles, restoring finishes, correcting imperfections, and finding solutions when something appears to be beyond repair. That experience taught him the importance of patience, attention to detail, quality workmanship, and – most importantly – thinking outside the box.

At the same time, spending years around the lake opened Austin’s eyes to a unique opportunity. He began noticing how many boats and other vehicles still had plenty of life left in them but had simply lost their appearance. Exposure to the sun, water, weather, normal wear and tear, and years of use can take a tremendous toll on a boat or vehicle. Austin realized there was a niche for high-end rejuvenation: taking older, neglected, or damaged boats and vehicles and transforming them into something their owners could once again be proud of.

That realization eventually became the foundation for Luxury Koating Applications.

Austin has always considered himself an outside-the-box thinker, and that mindset has become a major part of the way he approaches every project. When it comes to boats and other vehicles, there is rarely just one way to solve a problem. Sometimes the obvious answer is to replace something, but replacement isn’t always necessary.

With the right knowledge, materials, preparation, craftsmanship, and vision, there are often opportunities to restore, improve, and completely change the appearance of something that may have been overlooked.

Sometimes, an approach like this can save a customer significant money compared with replacing a boat or vehicle altogether. But more importantly, it can create a level of enjoyment and pride that goes far beyond the financial investment. There is something incredibly satisfying about taking something that has been neglected or worn down over time and giving it a completely new life.
