s you can see from the picture

accompanying this article,

something significant has taken

place at

recently. In case you haven’t heard, I think

it’s time I introduce myself. My name is

Ben Bradbury, and I am the new owner

of this fine publication. As Martie enters

Lake Anna Connections

a new phase of its own.

My wife Sarah and I are excited to

continue providing the Lake Anna region

with a guide to the services and products

that homeowners and area visitors rely

on. Beyond the valuable advertising

and directory information found in each

edition, we will also be carrying on

the tradition of providing readers with

outstanding articles to enjoy.

When it comes to great stories to read,

this Fall publication is no exception. In the

first article written by one of our talented

writers, “Earlyhouse: A Wedding Venue

and SoMuch More,” readers will discover

or be re-introduced to one of Louisa

County’s hidden gems. Owned by Kathy

and Bruce Stiles, this 150-acre property is

an ideal place to hold a wedding, family

reunion, or any other celebration.

Our second feature article, “Library

Services for All at the BCC Lobby Stop,”

brings to light the hard work of some area

volunteers and civic officials. Thanks to

the efforts of the Belmont Ruritan Club,

the Belmont Club of Women, the Central

Rappahannock Regional Library, and

Spotsylvania County, library services

are now being offered at the Belmont

Community Center.

The final major article for our Fall

publication this year is a story entitled

“New Life for an Old Marina.” This

article goes behind-the-scenes with Mike

Vallerie, the new owner of Pleasants

Landing Marina. After sitting vacant for

nearly a decade, Vallerie has been hard

at work getting portions of this property

running once again and has major plans

for the future.

While flipping through this edition, don’t

miss our Business Spotlight articles profiling

three area companies: Local Landscapers,

Lake Anna Linens, and Lake Anna Nursery.

Also, be sure to check out the latest

installment in our “Gran” Camp series!

As you may have noticed from my

photo, with two young boys at home,

I like to keep things fun. I hope to carry

this attitude into my work with

Lake Anna

as we bring a little extra joy

into your life with each edition.

Happy Fall!
